Overview

We are looking for a Senior Medical Writer to join our growing team and play a key role in the development of scientifically accurate, engaging content across a wide range of medical communications projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful work that supports healthcare professionals and improves patient outcomes, while mentoring junior writers and leading by example in scientific excellence.

You’ll work across diverse therapy areas and project types, supporting both publications and medical affairs deliverables, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external experts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, high-quality, and purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop scientifically accurate and compelling content across a range of medical communications projects
  • Adapt content and style based on client objectives, target audience, and subject matter
  • Ensure all work aligns with good publication practices, industry standards, and client expectations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas and industry guidelines
  • Liaise with medical experts and attend scientific meetings (e.g. symposia, advisory boards, congresses)
  • Review, proofread, and provide constructive feedback on writing produced by other team members
  • Mentor and support junior writers, contributing to their development and quality of output
  • Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities efficiently within a team-based environment
Qualifications
  • Life sciences degree, ideally combined with a Master’s or PhD in a relevant scientific field
  • Approximately 3–4 years' experience in medical writing, ideally within a medical communications agency or pharmaceutical environment
  • Broad experience across therapy areas and deliverables (e.g. publications, medical affairs, scientific meetings)
  • Strong reviewing, editing, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent scientific communication, organization, and time management abilities
