Our spacious home offers care and support for up to 85 residents across four specialised units:
Residential Dementia, Nursing Dementia, Frail and Elderly Nursing, and our newly opened Mental Health Unit. The Role In our Mental Health services, the role of a Unit Manager is indispensable. This a leadership role, playing a vital part in managing the care of our residents and providing high-quality, person-centred care. The Unit Manager will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans tailored to the individual needs of our residents. The Unit Manager will oversee and manage the daily operations of a specific unit within the Home, ensuring all goals and objectives are met in an efficient manner;

this will include supervising staff, managing resources and complying with the policies, procedures and best practice guidelines of Healthcare Ireland Group as well as the necessary regulatory bodies. The role is always evolving and will involve having a commitment to personal and professional development to ensure a positive difference is made in the lives of our residents and their families.

About

The Role Main Responsibilities Maintain and monitor RQIA standards within the unit, carrying out audits and risk assessments as required. Provide hands-on nursing care and support to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living, medication administration and clinical interventions. Manage the assessment, implementation and evaluation of individual resident care plans that promote wellbeing, independence, and quality of life. Communicate care plans to the care teams both verbally and in writing, ensuring all safety intervention, care planning and risk assessment documentation is kept up to date and in line with regulatory requirements.

Ensure the care delivered is based on the Positive Behaviour Support Model and that the values of this model are embedded in the Home. Ensure effective communication of any developments relating to resident care to the multi-disciplinary teams supporting the resident and the care teams. Responsible for medication management and documentation in line with regulatory guidance. Supervise, mentor and evaluate staff performance, demonstrating consistent and effective leadership, handling conflict resolution and any staff issues promptly when they arise.

An active NMC pin as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience AND experience supervising a team of healthcare professionals.
