Blair House Care Home is a well-established, registered nursing facility located on the outskirts of Newtownards, with the iconic Scrabo Tower as its backdrop. Conveniently situated near the town centre, the home is easily accessible via a range of transport options.
Our spacious home offers care and support for up to 85 residents across four specialised units:
Residential Dementia, Nursing Dementia, Frail and Elderly Nursing, and our newly opened Mental Health Unit. Each unit is designed to meet the unique needs of our residents in a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment.

The RoleEach of our Homes has a Maintenance person, who is vital in ensuring the safety, comfort and well-being of residents and team members. From fixing leaky taps to organising the repair of electrical systems to maintaining the grounds and ensuring fire safety regulations are met – this is a varied role and a key member of the team. With each repair and maintenance task, you’re not just fixing things, you’re supporting the team in providing excellent care to our residents in their Home.
The Maintenance person is essential in ensuring we can provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for our residents where they feel at home.
AboutThe Role The Responsibilities:
- Maintains a well decorated, safe, and comfortable environment in and outside of the Home.
- Ensures that Healthcare Ireland’s minimum standards are delivered in all units.
- Identifies and report damage, faults, and other related issues to line manager.
- Liaises with local contractors on site, as required, providing local knowledge and guidance in order that maintenance schedules can be on time.
- Deliver bloods, collect scripts and drive to suppliers when needed
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.
