Fabricator / Welder – Droitwich – Full-time | Monday-Friday | 39 hours + overtime (Day shift) – £18.50 per hour
Our client is a family-owned manufacturing business looking to appoint an experienced Welder / Plater / Fabricator to join their growing team.
Their design and manufacturing of bespoke work-holding solutions using state-of-the-art 3D CAD and CNC machinery supplies bespoke solutions to automotive, aerospace, off-highway vehicle, white goods, and food processing sectors. Products include robotic welding fixtures, end-of-arm tooling, positioners, and custom fabrications.
The RoleReporting directly to the Toolroom Manager, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality fabrications to drawing and specification.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret engineering drawings, including welding symbols
- Mark out, prepare, and fabricate materials to specification
- Manufacture and use jigs, templates, and patterns
- Carry out MIG, TIG, Stick, and Oxy-acetylene welding
- Fabricate and plate ferrous and non-ferrous materials
- Work with heavy fabrications up to 50mm plate thickness
- Perform single and multi-run welds
- Grind, deburr, finish, and assemble components
- Inspect work for quality and carry out rework where required
- Operate overhead cranes safely
- Check welding equipment before and after use
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Undertake site work when required
- Work as part of a team to meet production deadlines
- Follow all company procedures and Health & Safety standards
- Time-served welder with heavy fabrication experience
- Strong MIG and TIG welding skills
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Experience with thick materials and complex welds
- Overhead crane experience essential
- Additional fitting experience advantageous
- Coded welder (fillet and butt welds preferred)
- Skilled in plating and fabrication techniques
- Safe use of grinders and abrasive equipment
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Good understanding of Health & Safety
- Time-served apprenticeship
- City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 or BTEC ONC
- NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding / Plating & Welding
- MAN
