Customer Service Rep, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while providing legendary customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)As a Team Member, you should be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, capable of fulfilling the following requirements:
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Support selling initiatives (TEAM):
- Thank the Customer
- Engage with the customer and/or pet
- Advise on products or services
- Make the experience Memorable
- Perform a variety of duties during 95% of your workday, such as:
- Operate cash register/computer following established procedures
- Recover merchandise
- Participate in freight processing
- Complete Plan-o-gram procedures
- Assemble merchandise
- Perform janitorial duties
- Execute price changes/markdowns
- Assist customers with loading purchases
- Ensure the safety and care of live animals, including sanitizing tanks and caring for animals
- Complete all related documentation
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Required QualificationsExperience:
No experience required; retail and/or pet/live animal knowledge is preferred.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.
Skills and Abilities
- Pet/live animal, pet food, and pet product knowledge
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ethical issue resolution
- Generally indoor environment with moderate noise
- Hard surfaces in indoor and outdoor areas; adequate lighting and temperature
- Shifts typically range from 4 to over 8 hours
- Maintain a safe and productive environment following safety guidelines
- This is a non-sedentary position requiring physical stamina
- Ability to move quickly and safely throughout the store and outdoor areas
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Occasionally lift or reach overhead
- Stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, and climb ladders frequently
- Move throughout the store for entire shifts
- Handle merchandise and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Complete training and certification as required
