Application Engineer

Job Overview

• Perform hands‑on assessment, tuning, and testing of Moog systems both in the factory and on site at customer facilities.
• Understand customers’ requirements and specifications and use them as a basis for customization and configuration of hardware and software.
• Take responsibility for a project or program’s full scope and ensure customer needs are met.
• Conduct in‑house engineering work as part of upgrade projects.
• Leverage extensive knowledge of customer applications, including flight simulators, driving simulators, and control cabinets, to drive new product developments.
• Act as the business card of the product and company at customer sites.
• Support sales in creating scope and work‑breakdown structures for quotations.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer by training customers and colleagues.
• Travel up to 40% of total working time to install systems worldwide and support customer sites.
• Provide rapid troubleshooting under time pressure, including quick travel to foreign locations.
• Engage with large OEM customers worldwide, delivering results‑driven solutions.
• Proactively search for new technologies and innovative solutions, bringing creativity and inventiveness to the role.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., mechatronics or measurement and controls).
• Knowledge and understanding of measurement and control concepts.
• Knowledge of control systems and cabinet hardware.
• Strong grasp of control systems engineering, integrating mechanical design, electronics, and control software.
• Programming knowledge in C++ or MATLAB Simulink.
• Proficient in spoken and written English; a second language is a plus.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Application Engineering.
