Are you a student looking for an enjoyable and flexible part-time job alongside your studies? Are you accurate, comfortable with numbers, and interested in gaining experience within an international organisation? If so, we would be delighted to meet you.
For our Finance team in Nieuw-Vennep, we are looking for a Working Student – Financial Administration. You will support the team with a variety of administrative tasks and gain practical insight into how financial administration works.
Your working hours can be scheduled flexibly around your studies. Together, we will determine which days and hours suit your timetable.
What will you do?You will work with Finance Manager Shirley and your colleagues Fleur and Sjunaica. They will introduce you to the work and ensure that you receive thorough onboarding.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the team with:
- processing, checking, and posting incoming invoices;
- matching invoices with transport documents and other data;
- identifying and investigating discrepancies;
- processing and reconciling bank transactions;
- supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable administration;
- communicating with colleagues and suppliers about invoices and payments;
- handling reminders and questions about invoices;
- supporting checks and month-end closing activities;
- other general administrative tasks within the Finance team.
Your exact responsibilities will depend on your knowledge and experience, so you certainly do not need to know everything already. We will teach you the tasks, and as you gain experience with us, you will be able to handle more of them independently.
You will join a small Finance team with short lines of communication. This means you will quickly gain insight into what is happening and learn a great deal about the financial side of transport, logistics, and supply chain services.
What do you bring?Above all, we are looking for someone who works carefully, learns quickly, and enjoys gaining practical work experience alongside their studies.
Ideally, you:
- are currently enrolled in a vocational, university of applied sciences, or university programme;
- work accurately and in a structured manner;
- are comfortable with numbers and administrative systems;
- take responsibility for the tasks assigned to you;
- are comfortable asking questions when something is unclear;
- speak and write Dutch well;
- have basic knowledge of English;
- have some experience with Excel.
Experience in financial administration or logistics is not required. If you are motivated to learn, we will be happy to teach you the rest.
What do we offer?At Walker, you will have a flexible part-time job that is easy to combine with your studies. You will be an active member of a small Finance team, gain practical work experience, and have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities independently over time.
We offer:
- an appropriate gross hourly wage;
- flexible working hours that can be tailored to your studies and timetable;
- monthly payment of accrued holiday allowance and holiday hours;
- holiday entitlement proportional to the number of hours you work;
- excellent guidance from the Finance team;
- a workplace at our office in Nieuw-Vennep;
- relevant work experience within an international logistics organisation;
- opportunities to learn new things and further develop yourself;
- a small, committed team with short lines of communication and an informal working atmosphere.
At Walker International Transportation, everything revolves around reliability, collaboration, and creating peace of mind in complex logistics processes. Through our promise, “We create peace of mind,” we support customers worldwide with transport, supply chain management, and logistics services.
From our locations in Nieuw-Vennep, Maastricht, and Venlo, dedicated professionals act quickly, take responsibility, and focus on solutions. Communication is direct, the atmosphere is personal, and there are plenty of opportunities to develop yourself within an international logistics environment.
