Interim Validation Engineer (Automotive / Embedded Systems)
Location:
Nijmegen, The Netherlands
We are currently looking for two experienced Validation Engineers to join a leading high‑tech R&D environment in the automotive semiconductor domain. These positions are open for 7 months and 12 months, with a strong possibility of extension. Both freelance and temporary construction are possible. This role is strictly on‑site (5 days per week).
About the Role
In this position, you will be part of an advanced System Application & Validation team, working on cutting‑edge automotive infotainment and connectivity solutions such as radio systems and embedded IC applications.
You will play a key role in ensuring product quality by developing, executing, and optimizing system‑ and IC‑level validation setups.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and report on validation tests at system and IC level
Define and implement comprehensive test cases covering all requirements
Transform manual lab testing into automated, scalable validation environments
Support release processes by validating product updates for customer acceptance
Execute tests efficiently and provide clear reporting on results and issues
Actively contribute to team discussions and validation progress tracking
Document validation scenarios and results in structured databases and reports
Team & Environment
You will join a multidisciplinary team responsible for validating complex embedded systems that combine both hardware and software. The team collaborates closely with system architects, development teams, and other validation groups to ensure high‑quality product delivery.
Your Profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience (must‑have)
Experience in semiconductor and/or automotive environments
Knowledge of system‑level validation and behavior
Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
Technical Skills
Programming experience with LabVIEW (CLAD preferred), Test Stand, Python, C, C++
Experience with test automation and validation frameworks
Personal Skills
Proactive and improvement‑driven mindset
Strong analytical and structured way of working
Good communication skills in English
Team player with an enthusiastic and ambitious attitude
