Job Summary

The Phlebotomist (Traveler) serves as a Patient Services Representative and represents the face of the organization to patients seeking routine care or critical health insights. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood specimen collection and processing while maintaining professionalism, patient trust, and strict adherence to safety, confidentiality, and quality standards. Assignments may vary across patient service centers, physician offices, or other locations based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draw quality blood specimens and prepare samples for laboratory testing following established practices and procedures.
  • Explain procedures clearly and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while performing venipuncture in a safe and accurate manner.
  • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm specimens were labeled in the patient’s presence and accurately.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records and required documentation.
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and patient information accuracy.
  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Flexibly support assignments at doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or in-office phlebotomy locations as business needs dictate.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Proven ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Additional Requirements
  • Reliable transportation is required (bus, Uber, or rideshare is not considered reliable transportation).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Must be available to work all scheduled shifts, arrive on time, and remain for the full shift.
  • Excessive absenteeism or tardiness is not tolerated and may result in termination.
  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
