CT Technologist

Job Summary

Provides healthcare services, applying cross-sectional computed tomography (CT) imaging and all related duties to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs CT procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and recognized patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Acts as a resource to other radiology employees in managing complex issues and assures equipment is present and accounted for at the beginning and end of each shift.

• Verifies patients  clinical history, ensuring that information is documented and readily available to the licensed practitioner.
• Completes proper patients identification and order verification. Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
• Selects proper technical factors and operates equipment and accessories as directed. Positions patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
• Prepares / administers contrast media and / or medications as per protocol.
• Evaluates images and data for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, and pushes images to PACS as the accepted electronic format for permanent patient record, assuring proper patient identification is evident.
• Schedules patients for procedures.
• Assignments are routine; follows established protocols. Works under close supervision, seeks guidance where needed; requires some instruction on day-to-day work and resolves routine problems.
• Maintains a clean work environment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department/unit personnel.

Required

• Required Associate s Degree or equivalent years of experience in related field
• Preferred Bachelor s Degree

• CRT-Nuc Med Technologist (N) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist - NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-Computed Tomography (CT) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist 2 Yrs required Or
• CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
