Mishawaka, IN. Salary: $62,000.00 – $84,000.00.
All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, this means:
- Providing resources and tools to support associates in delivering the best service.
- Assisting with down‑stocking and area recovery and contributing to merchandising decisions.
- Monitoring use of store power equipment and coaching employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
- Leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience in the store.
- Coaching and training associates, delegating, following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage.
- Handling customer‑facing activities such as greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales.
- Managing non‑customer‑facing activities including down‑stocking, inventory management, and area recovery.
- Conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, and understanding safety and lifting directions.
- Communicating with leadership, supervising associates in other departments as needed, and keeping management informed of concerns, issues, praises, and morale.
- Occasionally opening or closing the store or serving as manager‑on‑duty (MOD).
- Traveling occasionally to meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores/outlets.
- Hourly full‑time schedule, generally 39 to 40 hours per week; flexibility for additional hours as needed.
- Availability in morning, afternoon, and evening on any day of the week.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, and perform tasks required by the job; must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance (can lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance).
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of retail experience, or 5 years of retail experience.
- At least 1 year of customer‑service experience.
- At least 1 year of experience supporting Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
- Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (with or without direct reports).
- Experience supporting training, mentoring, and development of associates.
- Experience working cross‑functionally.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to obtain sales‑related licensure or registration as required by law.
- 3 years of retail customer‑service experience.
- 3 years of experience supporting Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
- Experience in a leadership role with direct report responsibility.
- Experience in the home‑improvement retail sector.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Experience in a key carrying role with manager‑on‑duty responsibilities.
- Experience with store computer systems (e.g., Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client).
