Local Delivery Driver - CDL A (Relief Route)

Fills in as the primary store‑level sales person that sells and delivers products to stores over an established route to regular customers, including convenience and gas stores, small supermarkets, drug stores, restaurants, etc. Drives a Class A CDL required delivery vehicle across a wide variety of weather conditions and brings product into the store as it is sold. Responsible for generating sales by engaging in and overseeing all aspects of customer service, including ongoing rotation and stocking of products on the shelves and displays.
- Sell and execute all promotions
- Service all scheduled customers by the end of shift
- Deliver products to store
- Rotate products in the backroom and on the shelf
- Comply with operating procedures (e.g., scan‑in/scan‑out, following designated route)
- Deliver customer service (communication, rapport building, attentiveness to customer needs)
- Merchandise all accounts to local standards
- Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each account
- Maintain regular, reliable, predictable attendance
Position requires pushing/pulling cases ranging from 20–45 pounds repeatedly throughout the day as well as kneeling, climbing, bending, reaching and walking while delivering and stocking the product.
Basic Qualifications- 21 years or older
- Valid U.S. CDL with Non‑Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable; note that in most California locations both non‑excepted intrastate and non‑excepted interstate status are accepted; in Stockton, CA only non‑excepted interstate status is accepted)
- Pass DOT Physical and DOT Road Test
- Pass physical capability (if applicable)
- Adhere to DOT Regulations
- Experience working for a retail business or grocery store (understanding store operations, back‑room/inventory, stocking aisles and shelves)
- Sales experience (introducing new products, launching promotions, establishing new distribution points, making deals)
- Operating trucks requiring a Valid U.S. CDL license (driving forwards, backwards, maneuvering in tight spaces)
- Performing basic financial calculations (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, calculating profit percent, cost, margin)
- Operating handheld computers (inputting data, entering transactions, printing)
Because the material job duties of this role involve regular field work (away from a physical Company location), a conditional offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre‑employment background check and drug screening.
