Intermediate Classroom Teacher – Grades 5-6

Responsibilities:

• Plan, instruct, and assess the district curriculum.
• Maintain classroom management to ensure maximum student engagement and learning.
• Implement Readers’ Workshop, Writers’ Workshop, and Math Workshop, including flexible small group instruction.
• Build positive relationships with all stakeholders and work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Apply research‑based instructional strategies and integrate technology into the classroom.
• Participate in district and building professional development opportunities and meetings.
• Understand and implement Missouri Learning Standards into the curriculum.

Qualifications:

• Current Missouri Certification in Elementary Education B‑3 or 1‑6.
• Knowledge of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and a desire to learn Response to Intervention.
• Knowledge of research‑based instructional strategies and a desire to incorporate technology into instruction.
• Understanding of Missouri Learning Standards and formal/informal assessment strategies.
• Willingness to collaborate with peers and participate in the district’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug test approved by the Board of Education.
