• Teach Communication Arts, planning lessons, carrying out effective instruction, and evaluating student progress toward learning goals.
• Create a positive and productive classroom learning environment.
• Work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
• Engage at‑risk learners through differentiated instructional methods.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student comprehension and progress.
• Support the Building Improvement Plan and the District Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.

• Current Missouri Certification in English Language Arts 9-12 is required.
• Strong knowledge of technology, end‑of‑course examinations, Missouri Learning Standards, and effective instructional strategies.
• Proficiency in alternative strategies that work with at‑risk students.
• Experience working with at‑risk students is preferred.
• Willingness to collaborate with peers and support the District’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.
• Successfully pass a background check and drug test approved by the Board of Education.
