Library Assistant in Nizwa, Oman

We are looking for a dedicated and organized Library Assistant to join our team at the Nizwa Public Library. As a Library Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing resources and support to library patrons and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for students or individuals looking to gain experience in the field of library science.

• Assist patrons with finding and checking out books, magazines, and other materials
• Answer questions and provide information about library services and resources
• Organise and maintain library materials, including shelving, cataloging, and processing new items
• Help plan and implement library programs and events for all ages
• Monitor the behavior of patrons to ensure a quiet and respectful environment
• Perform basic clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and photocopying

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Library Science or a related field
• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Familiarity with library systems and technology is preferred

This position offers a salary of 1400$ per month.

• This position does not include accommodation but does offer free visa sponsorship and round-trip tickets to Nizwa.
