Adjunct Faculty – Business Administration
Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part‑time roles hired each semester on an as‑needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of the common syllabi provided by the School.
Major Responsibilities- Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, showing evidence of implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students.
- Interact with students and co‑workers professionally and cooperatively, complying with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
- Ensure knowledge and implementation of emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
QualificationsA qualified faculty member in Business Administration meets the program standard through one of four routes:
- Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, business education, public administration, management, marketing, or a business‑administration‑related field appropriate to the program.
- Possesses an earned related or out‑of‑field master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 post‑secondary semester /27 quarter credit hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory level in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business‑administration‑related field appropriate to the program.
- Possesses an earned related or out‑of‑field master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:
In‑field national, regional, or state professional certification (does not include teaching license or certificate);
Three years of in‑field professional employment in the industry (teaching in the area is not considered in‑field professional employment);
Documentation of research and publication in the field;
Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 15 semester/22 quarter credit hours or equivalent subject‑matter coursework, CEUs, vendor, or military training. - Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business‑administration‑related field appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following:
Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in a business‑related field (does not include teaching license or certificate);
Three years of in‑field professional employment in a business‑related field (teaching in the area is not considered in‑field professional employment);
Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award;
Documentation of research and publication in the field;
Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject‑matter coursework, CEUs, vendor, or military training.
Daytime and evening on‑campus availability is required; this is not a virtual/online position.
