This position will be supporting Indiana North highway relocation projects. The Engineering Technologist III provides technical expertise to solve more complex problems and offers leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with some supervision. The Senior Engineering Technologist is the highest non‑Engineer degreed technical support role; it requires additional experience and leads work with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities- Provides subject matter technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in the area of expertise.
- Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
- Independently reviews and prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches.
- Conducts engineering and related studies.
- Strives to continually improve job‑related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance.
- Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities and demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
- Supports the company’s goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
- Coaches and mentors other Engineering Technologists and Engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology AND 2 years relevant industry experience; or
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology and 4 years of relevant industry experience; or
- High School/GED and 6 years relevant industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology AND 4 years relevant industry experience; or
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology and 6 years of relevant industry experience; or
- High School/GED and 8 years relevant industry experience.
- Experience with CAD
- Experience in Electric Distribution Utility Design
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Experience in the electric utility industry
- Able to effectively apply basic principles of project management
- Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work performed from both remote and onsite locations after onboarding. Hybrid employees should reside within a reasonable daily commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
- Valid driver’s license
