Position Overview

The Union Shop Welder is an integral part of the fabrication process for overhead fire sprinkler piping in a fast-paced Union fabrication facility. This position involves operating welding and fabrication machinery, performing quality inspections, and ensuring smooth and efficient operations while maintaining a safe work environment.

Shift

This is a first-shift position. The working hours are:
Monday to Friday: 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate welding and fabrication equipment, including plasma cutting machines, roll groovers, and NAP automatic welders.
  • Perform visual inspections and measurements, ensuring products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Make minor adjustments to equipment and materials in process to meet production goals while maintaining efficiency.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues that arise during production.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of MIG welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Experience operating a forklift is a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented and dedicated to producing high-quality work.
  • Must pass a drug test as part of the hiring process.
