• Creates, and implements, a written plan of care that addresses the specific needs and goals of each patient; modifies the plan based on reassessment, observed response to treatment, and progress toward goals. Delegates tasks to team members as appropriate within scope of practice.
• Observes, documents, addresses, and implements planned interventions/care; communicates the plan through accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and, when needed, verbal reports. Documents patient information in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Performs selective procedures (e.g., IV starts and restarts, blood administration, phlebotomy tasks); responds to call lights and serves as testing personnel under CLIA
  1988 regulations as they relate to point-of-care testing.
• Administers medications accurately and timely according to physician orders and organizational policy; maintains knowledge of medication actions and side effects; documents patient responses and allergic reactions.
• Transitions patients by communicating the current plan of care through walking rounds and providing timely reports to incoming staff.
• Advises physicians, other disciplines, and family/significant others of changes in patient condition or abnormal findings; communicates clearly and concisely.
• Provides clear, specific educational and discharge information to patients and/or families.
• May precept new employees and oversee other members of the care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Minimum:
  Graduate from an accredited school of nursing by date of hire.
• Preferred: BSN

• Minimum:
  None
• Preferred: one (1) year as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.

• Registered Nurse License eligible to practice in the state of Indiana
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through AHA within six (6) months of hire
• Specialty - Telemetry within six (6) months of hire

• Certification in Med-Surg, Orthopedics or Chemotherapy

• Full-time
