Line cooks are responsible for prepping ingredients and assembling dishes according to company recipes and specifications. Kitchens can be hot, noisy, and stressful, so you will need to work efficiently and quickly to succeed as a line cook.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Adhere to attendance policy and procedural compliance.
• Prepare lunch/dinner menu items, maintain quality, and keep the area clean. Check specials with Kitchen Manager.
• Maintain a friendly and pleasant attitude.
• Stock food products/equipment needed for station. Clean, set, and prepare the service area 15 minutes before service.
• Avoid leaving the station during peak periods.
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures.
• Follow recipes at all times.
• Ensure the quality of products served matches recipes and specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness of the assigned area, including equipment and utensils.
• Attend mandatory meetings and suggest improvements.
• Communicate positively with team members.
• Ensure all necessary products are stocked for smooth service.
• Rotate perishable products properly.
• Follow closing procedures and assist others as needed.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Report station condition at end of shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic restaurant hospitality and service-minded attitude.
• Food Safety certification as required by law.
• Good hearing for safety and communication.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Reliable transportation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Compliance with dress code, including black slip-resistant shoes.
• Ability to pass departmental tests with a score of 90% or higher.
• Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Physical Requirements

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
