Asset Protection Specialist

Overview

The Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store or stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring store physical security, auditing Electronic Article Surveillance, and promoting a shrink-elimination culture in the store.

They prepare accurate case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserve evidence, interact with law enforcement, and testify in criminal and civil court actions. They report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and perform duties in a manner that minimizes risk of injury to themselves, other associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. They demonstrate integrity, respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates, and stay aligned with store objectives while supporting asset protection and operational responsibilities.

• Identify incidents of theft and fraud and review CCTV and exception reports.
• Monitor store physical security and audit Electronic Article Surveillance.
• Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries; preserve evidence; interact with law enforcement; testify in criminal and civil proceedings.
• Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
• Perform duties in a manner that minimizes risk of injury to self, others, vendors, customers, and the Company.
• Demonstrate integrity, respond to asset protection and operational concerns of associates, and support store-specific business objectives.
