Position SummaryWe are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Yard Truck Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely moving trailers on our yard, positioning equipment for loading and unloading, and working closely with dispatch and warehouse teams to maintain efficient yard flow.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate yard trucks (hostler/spotter trucks) to move trailers throughout the yard and in and out of the production facility.
- Back trailers into dock doors with precision and care.
- Inspect yard equipment daily and report any maintenance concerns.
- Maintain accurate trailer locations and update yard management systems as needed.
- Communicate with dispatch, mechanics, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free yard and production facility environment.
- Assist with minor equipment adjustments (e.g., straps and dunnage).
- Previous experience as a yard jockey, yard hostler, or CDL driver required.
- Ability to safely maneuver trailers in tight spaces.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and production facility traffic flow.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs. as needed.
- CDL Class A required.
