Engineering Manager

Lead the design and build of  Sovereign Kubernetes-as-a-Service (KaaS)  for Airtel Cloud Platform (ACP). Own the end-to-end architecture, engineering, and evolution of a hyperscale, multi-tenant Kubernetes platform with deep integration into ACP's IaaS, CDE (data platform), AI stack, and developer ecosystem.

This is a  hands-on, developer-first leadership role .

Key Responsibilities
- Platform Engineering

Architect and build Kubernetes as a Service (KaaS) for ACP (multi-cluster, multi-region, multi-tenant).
Define control plane and data plane architecture (high availability, isolation, scalability).
Standardize cluster lifecycle: provisioning, upgrades, patching, autoscaling.

Developer Experience (Dev-first)

Build a self-service developer platform (CLI, APIs, UI).
Enable Git Ops-based workflows (ArgoCD/Flux).
Provide golden paths for app deployment (microservices, AI workloads, batch).

Integrations (ACP ecosystem)

Deep integration with:
ACP IaaS (compute, storage, networking)
CDE (data pipelines, lakehouse, streaming)
AI Gateway & AI platform
CI/CD platform
Native support for stateful workloads, GPUs, and AI/ML pipelines
Scalability & Reliability

Design for hyperscale (1000s of clusters, 100k+ nodes)
Multi-region federation and workload portability
SLO-driven reliability (99.9%+)

Observability & Operations

Build unified observability:
Metrics (Prometheus)
Logs (Loki/Open Search)
Traces (Open Telemetry)
Define platform SRE practices (auto-remediation, cost visibility, capacity planning)
Security & Sovereignty

Implement zero-trust security model
Strong multi-tenancy isolation (network, compute, IAM)
Ensure data sovereignty and compliance (India-specific regulations)

Open Source Strategy

Build using and contributing to:
Kubernetes ecosystem (Cluster API, Karpenter, etc.)
CNCF stack
Avoid vendor lock-in; drive open standards
Team Leadership

Lead and scale a high-performance platform engineering team
Drive architecture reviews, coding standards, and engineering velocity
