We are currently seeking a Systems Integration Senior Specialist to join our team in Noida, Uttar Pradesh (IN-UP), India (IN).
Role Summary
The Senior Solar Winds Administrator is responsible for the design, administration, optimization, and support of the Solar Winds monitoring platform across enterprise environments. This role provides deep technical ownership of Solar Winds modules, ensures platform stability and scalability, and drives continuous improvements in monitoring, alerting, and incident reduction.
The role also acts as a technical SME , supporting integrations with ITSM platforms, enabling event correlation and noise reduction, and working closely with customers, delivery teams, and stakeholders to enhance operational visibility and service reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration & Operations
Administer, maintain, and optimize the Solar Winds Orion platform and associated modules.
Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of the Solar Winds environment.
Perform upgrades, patches, backups, and platform health checks.
Manage polling engines, load balancing, and distributed deployments.
Monitoring & Alerting
Configure and maintain monitoring for network, server, application, and infrastructure components.
Design and fine-tune alert thresholds, trigger conditions, and recovery logic .
Reduce alert noise through effective alert tuning, dependencies, and suppression.
Ensure alerts are meaningful, actionable, and aligned with operational SLAs.
Event Management & ITSM Integration
Configure and support outofthebox Solar Winds integrations with ITSM tools (e.g., Service Now).
Enable automated incident creation, update, and closure based on alert states.
Support event ingestion strategies for correlation, deduplication, and incident reduction.
Troubleshoot stuck alerts, synchronization issues, and integration failures.
Reporting & Dashboards
Develop and maintain custom dashboards, views, and reports for operations, leadership, and customers.
Provide SLA, availability, performance, and capacity insights using Solar Winds reporting.
Support audit and compliance reporting requirements.
Customer Engagement & Solutioning
Work with customers and account teams to understand monitoring requirements and pain points.
Translate business and operational needs into effective Solar Winds monitoring solutions.
Act as a technical escalation point for complex monitoring, alerting, and performance issues.
Provide guidance on best practices and platform capabilities.
Continuous Improvement & Governance
Identify opportunities to enhance monitoring coverage, efficiency, and automation.
Document platform configurations, standards, and operational procedures.
Support transitions, migrations, and onboarding of new environments or accounts.
Mentor junior administrators and provide technical leadership within the team.
Required Skills & Expertise
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Solar Winds Orion Platform , including modules such as:
Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Server & Application Monitor (SAM)
Net Flow Traffic Analyzer (NTA)
Network Configuration Manager (NCM)
Expertise in alert configuration, dependencies, and recovery logic.
Strong understanding of SNMP, ICMP, WMI, agent-less monitoring , and APIs.
Experience integrating Solar Winds with ITSM platforms .
Working knowledge of SQL, Solar Winds SWQL, and basic scripting for automation.
Infrastructure & Operations Knowledge
Solid understanding of networking (routing, switching, firewalls) .
Experience monitoring Windows, Linux, virtualization, and cloud environments.
Strong grasp of ITIL processes , especially Incident, Problem, and Event Management.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and handle high priority escalations.
Excellent communication skills for customer and stakeholder interactions.
Structured documentation and governance mindset.
Experience & Qualifications
8-12+ years of experience in IT Operations or Monitoring platforms .
5+ years of handson experience administering Solar Winds in large environments.
Experience supporting enterprise or managed services customers .
Solar Winds certification(s) preferred.
ITIL certification is a plus.
