Juvenile Justice Counselor 1, On-Call (26N24001)

Eligibility: This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Check the residency definition to determine if you qualify.

About the role: Nome Juvenile Probation is recruiting to fill an On‑Call, Non‑Permanent Juvenile Justice Counselor 1 position. The role involves day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts, working on call and sporadically. Responsibilities include ensuring the security of youth awaiting transport, escorting youth to facilities and treatment centers, and performing occasional duties on and off‑site, including air travel.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; must be 20 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license at time of appointment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Background investigation, criminal record check, and medical examination required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
