Software & Simulation Integration Support — End-to-End System Lab Engineer  to work there.

Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration

What is expected from you

Installation, configuration and maintenance of Linux-based workstation/server environments for the End-to-End System Lab;

Deployment and operation of containerised simulation components using Docker or equivalent container technologies;

Setup and operation of Kubernetes-based container orchestration for distributed simulation workloads, including integration of distributed simulation scenarios across multiple compute nodes, including control-plane and worker-node separation where applicable;

Configuration of server networking, storage and basic monitoring configuration;

Development and maintenance of scripts, integration utilities, adaptors and support tools;

Implementation of data collection, logging and KPI extraction pipelines for simulation demonstrations and experiments;

Support to proof-of-concept demonstrations, including execution of representative multi-node simulation scenarios and collection of performance evidence;

Preparation of interfaces and software infrastructure for higher-fidelity experimentation, including SDR, RF test equipment, processor-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop activities;

Debugging of complex software integration issues involving simulation frameworks, container platforms, distributed execution and networked services;

Support to the development and evolution of the SIMULUS orchestration layer, including scenario execution, lifecycle control, configuration management, logging, monitoring and automation

Integration of C++, Java and Python-based simulation components into a common execution environment

Documentation of installation procedures, configuration baselines, operational procedures, troubleshooting steps and lessons learned.

What you offer

Exposure to aerospace, satellite or mission simulation environments would be useful, but is not required;

Experience with SIMULUS, SIMSAT, REFASIM or related ESA simulation frameworks, or SimTG.

Experience with Kubernetes (or similar container orchestration tools), including deployment, configuration, troubleshooting and operation of containerised workloads;

Experience with gRPC, REST APIs, messaging systems, Java RMI;

Experience with monitoring/logging tools, basic database or time-series data handling;

Experience with SDRs, RF laboratory equipment, laboratory instrument automation;

Experience with CI/CD, automated deployment;

Experience with processor boards, edge computing boards, embedded environments;

Experience with real-time execution, hardware-in-the-loop, timing synchronisation;

Linux system administration and troubleshooting;

C++ and Java and software development and integration, Python for automation, tooling, data processing and test support, and shell scripting / command-line automation;

Docker or equivalent container technology;

Git/version control and collaborative software development workflows;

Debugging and integration of complex software environments;

Basic server networking and configuration;

Data/log processing and KPI extraction;

Clear technical documentation of configuration, procedures and issues

Where
You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium. We don’t expect the employees to be on-site full time however you will still have to relocate to the Netherlands for this position.
