Telespazio Belgium operates an on-site service at ESTEC in the Netherlands and is seeking a highly skilled Satellite Telecommunication System Engineer to work there.
Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration.
Responsibilities
What is expected from you:
Support ESA in satellite telecommunication system analysis and simulation. The activities include:
Assistance in preparation of invitation to tenders related to ESA R&D.
Support the management of industrial R&D activities in the areas of system design, analysis and simulations.
Support internal hands-on technical analysis on subjects related to future SATCOM systems.
Support the preparation of the R&D technology roadmaps in satellite telecom network protocols, architectures and systems.
Support ESA-wide projects in the area of telecommunication systems and technologies.
Qualifications
What you offer:
Master's degree / PhD (preferable) in Telecommunication or Electrical engineering.
Strong background in satellite communication systems and technologies, particularly for maritime and aeronautical services.
Experience in satellite system and network simulations.
Good knowledge of the 3
GPP 5G protocol.
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in telecommunications, including:
System-level analysis of satellite telecommunication networks
End-to-end Physical/MAC layer analysis and simulations
Knowledge of SATCOM related standards
Knowledge of MATLAB and other programming languages such as Julia, Python, C++.

Location
You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium. We do not require on-site presence full-time, however you will have to relocate to the Netherlands for this position.
