Summary
An established multifamily general contractor is seeking a Project Manager to oversee ground-up and affordable housing projects throughout Southern California. The ideal candidate brings a strong multifamily background and understands the coordination, financial management, and field execution required to successfully deliver apartment projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multifamily projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Oversee project budgets, contracts, cost controls, forecasting, and change management
- Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, owners, architects, and internal project teams
- Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, and project documentation
- Partner closely with field leadership to maintain schedule and resolve construction issues
- Review project costs and identify potential budget or schedule impacts
- Lead owner and project team meetings and provide clear project updates
- Support subcontractor buyout and scope review
- Monitor project quality, contractual requirements, and overall performance
- Maintain strong communication between office and field teams
Requirements
- 5+ years of construction experience with significant multifamily project exposure
- Strong ground-up multifamily experience required
- Affordable housing or market-rate apartment experience strongly preferred
- Podium construction experience highly preferred
- Walk-up and other wood-frame multifamily experience considered
- Strong understanding of project financials, contracts, scheduling, and subcontractor management
- Ability to manage multiple project priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and owner-facing skills
- Procore, Bluebeam, and related construction software experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
