Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting’s client is actively seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in Georgia. This is a contract-to-hire role crucial in supporting the finance team by managing vendor invoices, payments, and related reconciliations. The position demands a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding and approvals
  • Prepare and execute scheduled payments (checks, ACH, wires)
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
  • Handle employee expense reimbursements and corporate card transactions
  • Record daily AP entries and reconcile cash postings
  • Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries
  • Assist with month-end close tasks, including accruals and reconciliations
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
  • Familiarity with AP/ERP systems and basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to manage deadlines and handle high transaction volumes
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
