Ledgent Finance & Accounting’s client is actively seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in Georgia. This is a contract-to-hire role crucial in supporting the finance team by managing vendor invoices, payments, and related reconciliations. The position demands a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and deadlines.
Responsibilities- Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding and approvals
- Prepare and execute scheduled payments (checks, ACH, wires)
- Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
- Handle employee expense reimbursements and corporate card transactions
- Record daily AP entries and reconcile cash postings
- Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries
- Assist with month-end close tasks, including accruals and reconciliations
- Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- 2+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
- Familiarity with AP/ERP systems and basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to manage deadlines and handle high transaction volumes
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
