We are seeking a Materials Scientist/Engineer to support our Norcross, GA facility. This entry‑level position provides the opportunity to grow into a Lead Materials Development Engineer within 5‑10 years.
Key Responsibilities- Work in a materials and quality laboratory adjacent to the production floor
- Perform optical fiber testing to characterize physical, mechanical, and optical properties
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop new UV curable materials and processes for optical fiber applications
- Draft reports, create PowerPoint presentations, and present results in team meetings
- Work effectively within a team environment
- Handle high‑pressure work and manage challenging deadlines
- B.S. in Materials Science, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering
- Experience with materials testing in a laboratory setting
- Preferred coursework or experience in Polymer Science, Materials Characterization, or Polymer Rheology
- Experience with materials characterization techniques, preferably tensile and fatigue testing
- Enjoys hands‑on work
- Ability to multitask and adjust priorities based on business needs
- Proficiency with basic computer functions (Office, web)
- Excellent communication, time‑management, and documentation skills
