OFS, a leading manufacturer of optical fiber, cable and apparatus has an EHS Specialist position available at our fiber manufacturing facility located in Norcross, Georgia. This position will support a very dynamic, high‑tech, and high‑volume process that runs 24/7.

• Generally, 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

• 2-5 years’ experience in the EHS or related field.

• Interacts with regulatory agencies as it relates to citations, notices of violation, informal conferences, appeals, submittals, permit renewals, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Assists with the strategic development of trend analyses and metrics reports for the facility to decrease injury rates and improve compliance.
• Assists with the analyses, development and implementation of processes that improve the effectiveness of the EHS programs.
• Provides Environmental-related training to location managers and associates as needed.
• Conduct root cause investigations of all Environmental events and near misses.
• Conduct safety inspections and/or audits of all Environmental permitted operations.
• Meeting with management team to define EHS goals and objectives.
• Coordinates training and/or training materials to all plant employees and/or departments that contribute to Environmentally permitted operations and tracks training compliance.
