Summary
Pharmacy Technician prepares compounded sterile products and performs related activities under the direction of a pharmacist.
Responsibilities- Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures
- Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique
- Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using aseptic technique
- Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed
- Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities
- Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing
- Additional Level II duties:
Assist in training/mentoring of new IV Technicians as assigned

- Primary contacts are with direct supervisor, peers, and subordinates
Schedule:
9 am – 5:30 pm, weekday and alternating weekends (24 hours per week)
Salary range: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour
Qualifications- High school diploma/G.E.D or equivalent (required)
- 0–2 years of related experience (required)
- Applicable industry/professional certification (required)
- Regular and predictable on‑site attendance (required)
- cGMP training/experience desired; training will be provided
- Aseptic processing training/experience desired; training will be provided
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, talk, hear, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Moderate work – exerting up to 40 lbs of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects
- Frequent reaching upward/downward, pushing/pulling; constant standing and visual acuity with or without corrective lenses
- Occasionally sitting and walking; frequently handling, reaching, talking; constantly hearing, seeing, and standing
- Occasionally proximity to moving parts and exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals (in most areas); frequently and constantly no additional environmental hazards
- Noise intensity: moderate; office environment occasionally; production/manufacturing and lab environments frequently
