Part time Pharmacy Technician – Sterile Compounding (24 hours per week)

You will work a flexible schedule of 24 hours per week, available during weekdays and alternating weekends (9am‑5:30pm). The hourly pay range is $18.00‑$23.00.

Position Summary: Pharmacy Technician prepares compounded sterile products and performs related activities under the direction of a pharmacist.

Responsibilities – Essential Duties:

• Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures.
• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
• Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions.
• Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
• Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
• Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.
• Level II may assist in training/mentoring new IV Technicians as assigned.

General duties and safety responsibilities are assigned by the Supervisor. Employees must take reasonable care for safety and health of themselves and others.

• Working knowledge of the technical field/area of specialization.
• Application of principles, theories, and concepts.
• Follows established procedures and guidelines.
• Works under direct supervision and detailed verbal/written instructions.
• Uses established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
• May require limited judgment in resolving problems.
• Primary contacts are supervisor, peers, and subordinates.

Qualifications – Education/Experience/Training:

• High school diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent required.
• 0‑2 years related experience required.
• Applicable industry/professional certification required.
• Regular and predictable onsite attendance required.
• cGMP training/experience desired (training will be provided).
• Aseptic processing training/experience desired (training will be provided).

Physical Demands: The employee is expected to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally, perform moderate work up to 40 lbs of force, and use hands for handling and reaching tasks. Standing, walking, and occasional lifting are required.

Work Environment: Noise intensity is moderate. Work is performed in a production/manufacturing or lab environment. Occasional exposure to moving parts and chemicals may occur.
