We are seeking a results-driven Buyer/Planner/Procurement Specialist to play a key role performing daily activities related to purchasing raw materials, supplies, and finished items. Responsibilities include generation and maintenance of purchase orders, production orders, and placing and expediting orders. In addition, you will monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and supplies, both purchased and produced. Buyer Planner II– Procurement Specialist (Supply Chain / Sourcing and Purchasing Coordinator)

Responsibilities

As a Buyer/Planner II, you will be responsible for planning manufactured and purchased material at the most economic quantity to support demand as well as developing and maintaining strong working relationships with both suppliers and internal manufacturing partners. This will involve sourcing for products from different business partners and identifying savings opportunities, while also creating, placing and expediting orders. Furthermore, you will develop best practice procurement/planning methods and drive continuous process improvement through education and CIP projects.

Additional responsibilities for supply chain role include:

  • Initiating and participating in Supplier performance reviews, adding new Suppliers, and maintaining supplier data base, certifications and files
  • Recording adverse performances, then initiating and maintaining vendor corrective actions
  • Maintaining the Approved Service Provider List and evaluating as needed
  • Understanding and adhering to quality system requirements and ISO
    13485
  • Suggesting and researching second sourcing opportunities
  • Working closely with Operations and other departments that interact with Supply Chain
  • Meeting Kanban requirements and fully supporting qualifications/validations
  • Ensuring continual supply of parts to support all Plant needs
  • Monitoring OTD of suppliers and reporting any trends that may impact manufacturing
  • Ensuring dates in the ERP system are updated in a timely manner to allow for accurate delivery dates at all times
  • Holding Suppliers and manufacturing partners accountable to achieving due dates
  • Checking Master Data for accuracy and maintaining pricing, lead times, SS levels, planner codes, supplier information, ASL information, BOM and Route data, and PO status
  • Ensuring all POs and invoices are closed and free of issues for pricing, quantities, etc.
  • Evaluating RM SS levels and making recommendations to adjust any that are needed on a quarterly basis
  • Serving as the first line of defense for quality, pricing, and delivery issues, and escalating issues to management and strategic sourcing when necessary
  • Monitoring inventory of discontinued items to ensure that the appropriate people know the run-out date and validation plans are on track
  • Supporting CIP Projects to include re-evaluation of all suppliers and Service Providers, QCS creation, suggesting and researching savings opportunities, etc.
  • Suggesting improvements and participating in improvement projects
  • Generating production schedules & raw material requirements based on SIOP Outcomes
  • Releasing production work orders to Manufacturing
  • Analyzing sales performance and establishing Production and QC priorities

Buyer Planner II– Procurement Specialist (Supply Chain / Sourcing and Purchasing Coordinator)

Qualifications

Specific qualifications for this sourcing and purchasing coordinator role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Working knowledge of MRP/MPS and computerized inventory control systems
  • Working knowledge of material master maintenance, BOM's, routings/recipes and work centers
  • Prior purchasing experience; experience in FDA regulated industry, a plus
  • Solid computer skills with proficiency in MS Office products to include, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and related functions including formulation of graphs
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced mathematical skills
  • Prior exposure to and/or training in APICS CPIM, Lean/Six Sigma Certification, preferred
