The Role
The Maintenance Technician position supports the plant by checking, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment. This position has a six‑month probationary period to gain the knowledge and complete the skills checklist to attain top‑out.
What You Will Be Doing- Perform periodic, scheduled inspections and checks of equipment to determine whether failures or issues are present and determine how soon the corrections/adjustments may need to be made.
- Assemble and disassemble machines to make repairs, perform inspections, and replace with new items while maintaining safety and production goals in mind.
- Troubleshoot equipment to identify root cause(s) and suggest appropriate follow‑up actions.
- Identify failed components and determine necessary replacement parts.
- Interact directly with production and other plant teammates in a professional manner.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to receive work instructions, identify parts that belong to machines, and fully document work performed.
- Comply with all safety and environmental protocols relating to operations.
- Locate spare parts in the storeroom and follow stock check‑out processes.
- Maintain a dedicated toolbox and shared maintenance tools and supplies in an organized manner so that materials can be accessed quickly and reliably.
- High school diploma.
- Five or more years’ experience in an industrial environment as a maintenance employee.
- Performing preventive (planned) and corrective (unplanned) maintenance.
- Knowledge of and experience working in the following areas:
Mechanical;
Power Transmission—chains, belts, gearboxes, bearings, brakes, couplings, etc.;
Lubrication—oils, greases, storage and handling, application, etc.;
Hydraulics & Pneumatics—valves, actuators, compressors and pumps, piping and tubing, etc.;
Electrical; DC circuits—relays, contractors, power supplies, etc.; AC circuits (120 V to 480 V)—motors, drives, transformers, etc.;
Process control;
Industrial automation—robotics, PID, machine control, etc.; PLCs & networking—communication, signals, I/O, LANs, etc.
- Associates degree or 2+ years of vocational training.
- Experience with maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound inspection, oil analysis, and precision alignment.
- Certifications in mechanical/industrial fields (electrician, millwright, welding, etc.).
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT).
