Packsize Operator

Summary of Position

The Packsize Operator is responsible for setting up and operating assigned packaging machines and statistical scales to pack the optimum number of quality packages of product. The "Packsize" is a machine that produces the exact amount of packing material needed for a certain component. The ideal candidate will have basic computer skills, mechanical skills such as reading a tape measure, and physical strength and stamina.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Operate packaging machines and perform quality checks.
• Maintain safety and quality standards.
• Monitor and replenish packaging supplies as needed.
• Set up equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Ensure proper functioning of the Packsize machine and forklift operation.
• Alternate between operating the Packsize machine and palletizing components for shipping.
• Keep accurate records of production.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to measure to 1/16 of an inch on a tape measure.
• Experience with warehouse operations; forklift certification is a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain a steady work pace.
• Ability to operate a Packsize machine and forklift.
• Ability to identify and report deficiencies for quality control.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to measure accurately with a tape measure.
• Warehouse experience preferred (forklift certification not required).
