Job Summary
The Sanitation Associate is responsible for all activities involved in maintaining the cleanliness and Jetzt food‑safe environment of the processing facility, surrounding area, and equipment. The primary purpose of this job is to perform daily sanitation of all processing lines and to receive direction concerning sanitation activities in conjunction with the company’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
Responsibilities- Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to a safe workplace for all.
- Ensures safety is a priority in day‑to‑day functions.
- Ensures food safety and food defense in the plant.
- Implements all GMP and HACCP procedures that relate to cleanliness, food safety, and pest control with the facility.
- Maintains a supply of cleaning chemicals necessary for the operation of the cleaning program and in compliance with OSHA and FDA regulations.
- Knowledgeable in best practices and safety, understanding MSDS information, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Follows and complies with all Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Communicates effectively with supervisors, co‑workers, and other departments.
- Proficient at routine preventative maintenance as well as changeovers.
- Follows all safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Attends all company training sessions and team meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Flexible with schedule, including start times and weekend work.
- Can work in a team environment and independently.
- Manual and finger dexterity.
- Can work in a noisy environment for length of shift.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Reach above shoulder height.
- Can sit, bend, twist, stand, climb stairs/ladders, push/pull, and walk for length of shift.
- Work in a noisy environment.
- Work indoors as well as outdoors.
- Work in wet What it feels like and/or humid conditions.
- Work in cold or hot environments.
- Work around machinery.
