Position Summary

The Surgical Registered Nurse provides safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care and clinical patient coordination within The Drainless Aesthetic Institute’s on-site cosmetic surgery facility.

Based on experience, demonstrated competency, staffing, and facility needs, the Surgical RN may support preoperative care, circulating, post-anesthesia recovery, discharge, clinical patient coordination, and other qualified perioperative functions.

This position has no on-call responsibilities. Early starts and extended clinical days may be required. Scheduled weekend coverage may be needed approximately one to two times per month.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform and document perioperative nursing assessments.
  • Review preoperative documentation and confirm allergies, medications, orders, testing, and other information required for surgical readiness.
  • Provide preoperative nursing care and patient education.
  • Perform circulating RN responsibilities when assigned, qualified, and competency-validated.
  • Participate in surgical time-outs, counts, specimen handling, patient positioning, identification, and other required safety procedures.
  • Complete timely and accurate perioperative documentation.
  • Provide post-anesthesia recovery care when qualified and assigned.
  • Monitor vital signs, pain, nausea, surgical sites, and other clinical indicators during recovery.
  • Administer medications and treatments pursuant to lawful orders and facility policy.
  • Recognize and immediately

  • Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, scrub technicians, medical assistants, and other team members.
  • Coordinate preoperative visits, procedures, postoperative appointments, and clinical follow-up.
  • Address patient questions within the RN scope of practice and elevate matters to the appropriate licensed provider when necessary.
  • Provide timely follow-up regarding surgical preparation, recovery, discharge instructions, and continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate patient information, schedules, medical records, and clinical coordination documentation.
  • Participate in discharge planning and patient education.
  • Maintain infection-prevention and patient-safety practices.
  • Participate in crash-cart checks, emergency readiness, drills, and patient-transfer procedures.
  • Assist with incident reporting, quality-improvement activities, and clinical review.
  • Support AAAHC accreditation readiness and ongoing compliance with applicable facility standards.
  • Assist with operating-room setup, turnover, stocking, and supply readiness as needed.
  • Perform other appropriate duties within RN scope, demonstrated competency, and facility policy.
Required Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted Georgia Registered Nurse license or a valid multistate RN license with authorization to practice in Georgia.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum of one year of PACU or ICU experience.
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Ability to satisfy facility credentialing, competency, and pre-employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of operating-room or PACU experience.
  • Ambulatory or office-based surgery experience.
  • Plastic or cosmetic surgery experience.
  • CNOR certification.
Startup Expectations

Clinical team members may be cross-trained in multiple perioperative functions when legally permissible and after appropriate training and competency validation.
