Cashier, Retail

Restaurant Depot is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Cashier who can provide exceptional customer service. As the first point of contact for our customers, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impression, foster customer relationships and provide a seamless checkout experience.

• Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures including but not limited to verifying customer’s order and payment details, entering orders into the database, balancing cash receipts and payments, and reconciling daily summaries of transactions.
• Greet customers entering and leaving the business while maintaining a courteous, professional standard of service.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of store policies regarding payments, store security and other procedural matters.
• Track all cash, credit, and other transactions using register to ensure they align with business records.
• Resolve customer complaints and guide them and provide relevant information.
• Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area.
• Assist other team members as needed with tasks including but not limited to restocking shelves, assisting in floor moves and store cleanliness.

• Prior work experience as a cashier or in a similar role in sales is a plus.
• Basic PC knowledge and familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g. cash register, scanners, money counters etc).
• Strong communication and time management skills. Ability to effectively multitask in a busy retail environment.
• Customer satisfaction-oriented. A personable approach with customers and ability to offer great service.
• Attention to detail and mathematical skills. Ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
• High level of integrity with handling cash and confidential financial information.
• Able to work flexible schedules that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school degree or equivalent is preferred.
