We are currently seeking an Instrumentation Technician to support our Maintenance Department in our Norcross, GA location. This position will be responsible for installing, proving in, troubleshooting, calibrating, modifying, maintaining, inspecting and repairing all types of novel, prototype, experimental and conventional electrical and electronic manufacturing, testing and control equipment and meters; and micro, mini, medium and large scale computer systems, computer terminals, printers, disc drives or tape drives that are associated with on‑site telecommunications systems.

The role also includes modifying and/or assembling modular software test programs to exercise and test telecommunications computer systems as a functional unit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Independently plan work assignments and perform duties with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Train and direct the efforts of plant trades helpers, junior trades workers and trades workers assigned to assist in the performance of the work.
  • Collaborate with functional personnel in own and other organizations to resolve problems and recommend solutions based on trade knowledge.
  • Work well with engineering staff to troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
Key Qualifications
  • Two years of an accredited trades school with certification of completion of all coursework or equivalent knowledge and skill acquired by means of practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability with basic skills associated with this trade.
  • Must be able to work any shift or work schedule.
  • Employees are expected to serve as role models for safe work practices and behaviors.
  • Machine control interface (touchscreens).
  • Problem‑solving and ability to troubleshoot machine problems.
  • Reading and writing English language.
  • Ability to understand and read wiring schematics.
  • Time management.
  • Strong computer skills (for looking up machine parts, schematics).
