Job SummaryThe Warehouse Worker is responsible for managing the daily operations of a mid‑size flooring warehouse.
FLSA StatusNon‑Exempt, Hourly
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Picks and stages daily jobs; prepares materials; accepts and stores inventory; labels inventory.
- Ensures work orders, status updates, shipping/receiving confirmations and material returns are entered into the company inventory system.
- Monitors inventory to ensure accuracy at all times.
- Processes freight trucks promptly.
- Conducts monthly inventory counts, identifies discrepancies and reconciles differences.
- Supervises and coaches staff to perform assigned duties and to develop skills and abilities.
- Organizes and maintains the cleanliness of the warehouse and facility, as well as the responsible outside area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED and one to two years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination. Experience must involve warehouse operations and management.
- Ability to read, comprehend simple instructions, shipping documents and material instructions; write correspondence and prepare documents; proofread work.
- Flooring warehouse experience is preferred.
- Mathematical skills – basic algebraic and geometric calculations.
- Reasoning ability – apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions; solve simple problems.
- Computer skills – knowledge of workstations, peripheral equipment, database, spreadsheet, email and word processing software.
- Communication skills – effectively communicate orally and in writing in English.
- Vision – able to view documents and read handwritten documents; near vision required.
- Valid driver’s license and personal car insurance.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 100 lbs.
- Technical knowledge – experience with flooring product and installation processes.
- Problem solving – identifies and resolves problems promptly.
- Oral communication – speaks clearly and persuasively; participates in meetings.
- Written communication – writes clearly; reads and interprets information.

Work EnvironmentQuiet to noisy when operating machinery such as a forklift, blower, etc. Exposure to dust, fumes, gases; requires work near moving machinery and temperature/humidity changes.
