ABOUT US:
Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership (NENCAP), INC is a private, nonprofit corporation. NENCAP serves an income-eligible population in a 14-county area of Northeast Nebraska with programs such as Head Start, Early Head Start, WIC/Immunizations, Healthy Families, Weatherization, and Family Services, free tax preparation, car seat programs, Veteran Services, Commodity Supplemental Food Program, and food pantries.

JOB SUMMARY:

Early Head Start (EHS) Teachers are responsible for understanding, planning, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children birth through age three. Promote nurturing and bonding relationships. Encourage self-help skills and provide consistent routines. Work with families to identify goals, strengths, needs and support them in a process which leads them toward self-sufficiency. Assist children in establishing good habits of personal hygiene;

change diapers so children are comfortable. Develop weekly lesson plans and send them to the supervisor. Conduct screenings within 45 days of enrollments. Communicate with parents on a regular basis. Complete required educational home visits with Parent/Teacher conferences for each child. Attend and participate in children’s MDT and IFSP meetings. Enter documentation for each child and manage child data/reports through the on-line assessment system.

Maintain a clean organized room. Frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Maintain confidentiality of program participants and follow Program and Agency standards and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

An Associate’s, Bachelor’s or advanced degree in early childhood education or a related field with experience in teaching 0-3 early education and care or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential IS REQUIRED.
** The program provides opportunities for staff to obtain a Child Development Associate Credential or advance a degree.

WAGE & BENEFITS:

The starting wage is $20.00 per hour, plus benefits. Wage depends on education and experience. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance.
