• Provides direct patient care to clinic patients.
• Examines, diagnoses, and prescribes appropriate treatment plans for patients. Follow appropriate standards of care for each patient.
• Refers patients for appropriate specialty care services, lab and x-ray and any other ancillary services that are appropriate for patient’s m management and care. Reviews all lab and x-ray reports for patients under his/her care on a timely basis and makes medical management decisions appropriately.
• Maintains health records for all patients and provides appropriate follow‑up instructions through the use of electronic health records.
• Provides continuity of care to patients and serves in rotation for after‑hour care coverage.
• Ensures that patient and family are educated about diagnosis and the plan of care.
• Particpates in the review, development, and training of patient care policies, procedures, protocols, and standing orders.
• Accepts responsibility for remaining current with medical and health care trends and information that impact the medical practice.
• Assumes responsibility/accountability for delegating, directing, and supervising patient care activities.
• Provides professional perspective and direction in the development of the community health care plan.
• Assists in maintaining an efficient, safe, secure, orderly, and aseptic environment of care for all patients and employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Duties 1 through 6 are disgnated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed in this job. All other job duties are secondary functions.
