Phlebotomist

Location: Norfolk, NE |
Schedule: Contract, full-time, on-site (M, W, F 8am-5pm; T, TH 7am-4pm)

A healthcare services provider is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to support its laboratory operations in Norfolk, NE. This is a contract position with an initial duration of approximately 3 months and potential for permanent placement, offering an opportunity to apply specimen collection expertise across patients of all ages.

• Perform blood draws and other specimen collection (e.g., urine, fecal) on patients of all ages
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients
• Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
• Fully understand and follow physicians' orders
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperature
• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures
• Update patient information and collect/store specimens according to established procedures
• Assist with troubleshooting, training, and workflow recommendations

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 3 years of experience in phlebotomy
• Experience drawing blood from patients of all ages
