Position: 2026 NIMternship

2026 Summer NIMternship — May 20th - July 31st — Company provided housing!

Join Norfolk Iron & Metal's dynamic internship program as a NIMtern! This unique opportunity allows interns to explore the various departments within the organization to gain valuable insights and experiences in all areas of the business!

What will you gain from this experience?

  • Exposure to Various Departments: Gain firsthand experience in multiple areas. For 2 days you will experience another department of your choice, allowing for a greater understanding of the organization's operations.
  • Networking Opportunities: Network with senior leaders and industry experts through exclusive lunch and learn sessions and after‑hours events.
  • Professional Development: Acquire valuable skills, insights, and experiences that will contribute to your professional development and enhance your resume.
  • Real‑World Experience: Engage in a capstone project that provides hands‑on, real‑world experience in solving a specific business challenge or opportunity and present your capstone project to both the Executive and Corporate Leadership Team’s.
  • Skill Development: Acquire and enhance a diverse set of skills relevant to your department, ranging from technical skills to soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
  • Informed Career Decision: Through exposure to various departments, networking, and immersive experiences, you will be equipped to make an informed decision about your future career path, identifying areas of interest and passion to shape your career trajectory.
  • Company Culture Understanding: Experience firsthand how the organization operates and how teams collaborate to achieve common goals.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in college, going into Junior or Senior year, or approaching graduation.
  • Passion for learning new things and the ability to work with various departments throughout the company.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to commute to and from the physical location of the internship (3001 N Victory Rd, Norfolk, NE).
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
