An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join a major prison refurbishment project at HMP Wayland. This Senior Site Manager role offers over 10 months of secured work on a significant fit-out programme, with an immediate start and the chance to work for a leading contractor delivering a high-profile government project.
About the role of Senior Site Manager
As Senior Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for overseeing the fit-out and refurbishment of accommodation cells, communal areas, welfare spaces, and associated facilities within HMP Wayland. Working alongside the wider project team, you will ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining programme targets within a live prison environment.
Responsibilities for Senior Site Manager
Manage the day-to-day delivery of fit-out works across multiple areas of the prison.
Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to ensure programme deadlines are achieved.
Oversee health & safety compliance and maintain high site standards.
Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, and prison authorities.
Monitor quality, progress, and productivity throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure all works are completed in line with specifications and security requirements.
Requirements for Senior Site Manager
Previous experience working as a Senior Site Manager on major construction projects.
Proven fit-out experience, ideally within occupied or highly regulated environments.
Tier 1 contractor experience is essential.
Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills.
SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
Must live within approximately one hour of HMP Wayland.
