Rate: £45 - £50 per hour. PAYE only

Locum (short‑term and long‑term assignments available)
Details:
Start ASAP, no end date as of yet. Working Monday Friday 9am-5pm. The duties will include clinics and possibly day time on-call 8-5pm. There may also be opportunities for a suitably trained individual for them to undertake consultant supervised cath lab sessions such as angiography, PCI and/or pacing. However, we would need to see a log book containing evidence and supporting references confirming procedural competence

About the Role

As a Locum SpR Cardiologist, you will provide high‑quality inpatient and outpatient cardiology care within NHS Trusts. Your responsibilities may include managing acute cardiac admissions, participating in ward rounds, reviewing patients in specialist clinics, and supporting diagnostic and interventional pathways depending on your skillset.

Key Responsibilities

Delivering safe and effective cardiology care
Leading and supporting multidisciplinary cardiac teams
Supervising junior medical staff
Managing acute cardiac presentations (e.g., ACS, arrhythmias, heart failure)
Participating in audits, MDTs, service development, and governance

What We're Looking For

Essential:

MBBS or equivalent
Full GMC registration with licence to practise
Previous NHS Cardiology experience at ST3+ / SpR level
Valid DBS/PVG (or willingness to obtain one)
UK Right to Work
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

Cardiology specialty training (ST3-ST8 or equivalent)
Experience in echocardiography, cardiac catheterisation, or rhythm management (depending on Trust requirements)
