Position: Glass Manufacturing Operative (Temporary)

GLASS MANUFACTURING OPERATIVE

Pay Rate: £14.08 per hour plus overtime at time and a half

Select Recruitment is currently recruiting a Glass Manufacturing Operative on behalf of our client, a manufacturer of high-end glass products. This is an excellent opportunity to join a quality-driven production environment where precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement are key.

THE ROLE:

You will work as part of a specialist glass production team, producing glass components to a consistently high standard. Full training will be provided across several processes, including:

Glass Cutting - Transferring CAD data and nesting parts to optimise glass sheet usage
Glass Grinding - Programming, setting, and operating glass edge-grinding machines
Glass Toughening - Training on in-house flat and bent glass toughening processes, including furnace, press-bent, and sagged bending systems
Glass Printing
- Operating large-format printers to apply detailed designs prior to furnace processing
You will be trained to read and understand engineering drawings and work to required quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manufacture glass products right first time and to specification
Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping
Handle glass safely, including manual lifting where required (mechanical lifting aids available)
Follow behavioural-based Health & Safety procedures at all times
Contribute to lean and continuous improvement initiatives

ABOUT YOU:

Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Calm, controlled approach to work
Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively
Self-motivated and able to use initiative
Good communication and teamwork skills
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
SHIFT PATTERN
Week 1

Monday–Thursday: 06:00–14:00
Friday: 06:00–13:00
Week 2

Monday–Thursday: 14:00–22:00
Friday: 13:00–20:00
Rotating on a weekly basis. Overtime is paid at time and a half.
