Workshop Production Operative / Building Manufacturer

Location:

Horsford, Norfolk
Pay: £13.25 per hour – increasing after probation

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm

Contract:

Permanent following successful 12-week probationary period

Position 1 Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Workshop Production Operative to join a busy building manufacturing team in Horsford.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in manufacturing and construction. No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided.

The Role:

As a Workshop Production Operative, you will assist with the manufacture and construction of timber buildings.

You will work closely with the Unit Manager and Production Manager as part of a busy production team.

Most of your training will be provided on the job, with experienced colleagues teaching you how to safely use equipment and understand the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

* Cutting timber and other components

* Assembling sections for buildings

* Using power hand tools

* Using fixed machinery

* Working to production deadlines and schedules

* Carrying out quality checks on buildings being produced

* Maintaining a clean and tidy work area

* Stock control and waste management

* Loading and unloading vehicles

* Assisting with painting of buildings when required

* Working both independently and as part of a team

* Liaising with the Unit Manager and Production Manager

* Following company health & safety procedures at all times

* Able to follow instructions and work safely

* A good team player

* Able to work independently when required

* Physically fit for a hands-on role

* Keen to learn and develop new skills
