Straight Forward Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of their client for Production Operatives to work within the chilled production area of a pet food manufacturing facility.
You will be responsible for handling frozen and chilled raw meat products in accordance with company procedures and food safety standards.
Key duties include:Loading frozen blocks of raw meat into industrial grinders and processing equipment.
Handling and moving chilled and frozen raw materials safely using manual handling techniques or approved equipment.
Weighing and adding ingredients to production mixers following production specifications.
Monitoring production processes and ensuring products are prepared to the required quality standards.
Maintaining cleanliness of the work area and equipment throughout the shift in line with hygiene and food safety procedures.
Following Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times.
Working in a temperature-controlled chilled environment for the duration of the shift.
Assisting with general production duties as required to support the manufacturing process.
Temperature-controlled chill area (typically 2-8°C).
Regular handling of frozen raw meat products.
Physically demanding role involving lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
Appropriate PPE will be provided and must be worn at all times.

07:00 - 17:00
£12.71 per hour
Previous experience in food production, food processing, manufacturing or working in a chilled environment is preferred but not essential.
Comfortable working with raw meat products in a chilled environment.
Good attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties safely.
Own transport is essential due to the location of the site, as there is no public transport available.
This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, with permanent positions available for the right individuals based on attendance, performance, and business requirements.
